The Core.

1. How is the fact that this is a disaster film foreshadowed in the opening of the film?
There is a form of foreshadowing at the beginning to show that it's a disaster film, by people in the public randomly fainting and the city going manic. The cars in the road suddenly crash and a watch stops. This gives the audience a feel of a disaster film, because they can already tell that something bad is happening, and it's going to get worse.

2. List the 8 main characters.
Joshua Keyes.
Tom Purcell.
Rebecca Childs.
Theodore Finch.
Conrad Zimskey.
Brazzelton.
Paul.

3. How is sound and editing used to create tension and drama during the spaceship landing scene?
Sounds and editing are used frequently in this scene to create tension and drama by at first using calm music and then it cuts to the signal. As the connection is lost the music gets higher and faster. At this point the cuts from inside the ship and outside the ship get much quicker. As the panic increases the music gets louder and cuts even faster. As the spaceship eventually lands the music gets lower and slower.

4. How is sound and editing used to create and ellipsis after the team first meet?
The editing used to create an ellipsis sped up to give the impression of time passing. As for the sound, it became mostly in the background, quiet as the team spoke.

5. How are two of the following used to create tension and drama during the lightning storm on rome?

  • Sound
  • Editing
  • Camera work
  • Mise-en-scene.
During the lightning storm in Rome , at first the music is low as the scene starts. Mostly talking, and then the television stops working and from then on the music is fast and loud and increases throughout to show panic and drama. The camera work is mostly close up and wide shots to see people's facial expressions and to see what is going on, and where it's happening.

Sweeney Todd film exhibition.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street first opened in the United States on December 21, 2007 in 1,249 theatres. The film took $9,300,805 in its opening weekend. Worldwide releases followed during January and February 2008, the film became very popular in the United Kingdom and Japan. In the United States, the Marcus Theatres Corporation was not initially planning to show the movie after its premiere, because it was unable to reach a cost agreement with Paramount. However, they managed to sort it out in time for the release.

UK review on Sweeney Todd

I agree with this review because it says, ''Depp is too young and too beautiful – but he claws back some romance for his anti-hero and proves a capable singer.'' which i agree with. In my opinion i thought that Johnny Depp was surprisingly good at singing, and was perfect for the role.

I think this is a US review on Sweeney Todd.

I also agree with this review because it says, ''Sanders, a child rather than the twentysomething usually seen in the role, is creepily convincing, which doesn't make the climax any more comforting.'' which I believe to be true. The actor playing Toby definitely made the whole ending more eerie because of the dirtiness of his face and the same sense of 'vengeance' the whole film is based upon. Whereas if they had cast a ''twentysomething'' it wouldn't of been as successful.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was released on DVD in America on April 1, 2008, and the UK on May 19. The DVD was released and so far about 1,892,488 copies have been sold, making the total income $37,879,985.
Sweeney Todd also recently aired on television in America and England.
