What is a film pitch?

A film pitch is a presentation about the film someone wants to make. The person who wants to make this film has to show it to investors in hope that they would be interested. 
A film pitch must include:

  • A logline.
  • A 200 word pitch.
  • A selection of suitable actors and actresses.
  • A narrative.
  • The genre of the film.
  • The target audience.
  • A budget.
  • Mention of a director.

Film Production Cycle

Pre-Production: 
In the pre-production the Location/s and Actors/Actresses are chosen. The film is storyboarded and the screenplay is written. 


Production:
In the production, the film is actually created and filmed. 




Post-Production: 
During the post-production the film is edited and some sounds, music and any other special effects are added. 


Distribution:
The distribution of a film means that the actual film is given to chosen cinemas ready to be shown. 


Exhibition:
The exhibition of a film means actually showing it to the audience, as well as promoting the film.
